Obama Going to Israel

U.S. president to visit Israel in June

U.S. President Barack Obama will visit Israel and Western Bank in June, the Israeli Haaretz newspaper reported with reference to the U.S. diplomatic sources.

Obama will visit the region after tripping to France in June.

A decision to visit Israel several days after meeting with new Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu testifies that the United States plays an active role in settling Palestinian-Israeli problem.

Last week, Israeli new Foreign Minister Avigdor Libermann refused to follow the Annapolis agreement signed with the new Palestinian government in 2007.

Before Obama’s visit to Israel, U.S. Special Envoy to Middle East George Mitchell will visit the region.

Unlike, former George Bush administration, the new leader of the White House is not against of Hamas’s joining the Palestinian government, Haaretz reported. However, the U.S. supports the decision of the Middle East quartet – U.S., EU, UN and Russia – on refusing from any diplomatic negotiations with Hamas. The quartet insists on the movement to recognize Israel’s right for existence and refuse from resistance.

Obama May Allow Iran’s Nuclear Ambition to Continue

And why not? They have the right to develop Nuclear energy just like everyone else does.

Bush had such hypocrisy attacking Iran for refusing to comply with UN resolutions on the development of its nuclear program while never mentioning Israel already has nuclear weapons and refuses to bring them under international control or scrutiny.

US may cede to Iran’s nuclear ambition

US officials are considering whether to accept Iran’s pursuit of uranium enrichment, which has been outlawed by the United Nations and remains at the heart of fears that Iran is seeking nuclear weapons capability.

As part of a policy review commissioned by President Barack Obama, diplomats are discussing whether the US will eventually have to accept Iran’s insistence on carrying out the process, which can produce both nuclear fuel and weapons- grade material.

“There’s a fundamental impasse between the western demand for no enrichment and the Iranian demand to continue enrichment,” says Mark Fitzpatrick, a former state department expert now at the International Institute for Strategic Studies. “There’s no obvious compromise between those two positions.”

The US has insisted that Iran stop enrichment, although Mr Fitzpatrick notes that international offers put to Tehran during George W. Bush’s second term as president left the door open to the possible resumption of enrichment.

“There is a growing recognition in [Washington] that the zero [enrichment] solution, though still favoured, simply is unfeasible,” says Trita Parsi, president of the National Iranian American Council. “The US may still have zero as its opening position, while recognising it may not be where things stand at the end of a potential agreement.”

Yesterday, Mr Obama summarised the US message to Iran as, “Don’t develop a nuclear weapon” – a form of words that would not rule out a deal accepting Iranian enrichment. Mr Bush was much more specific in calling Iran to halt enrichment.

Asked last month whether the administration was considering allowing Iran to keep a limited enrichment capability, Robert Wood, a state department spokesman, said: “I don’t know . . . Let’s let the review be completed and then we can spell out our policies.”

Some analysts say priority should be given to winning greater access for UN inspectors, to acquire more information about Iran’s enrichment plant in Natanz and fill in gaps in knowledge on Iran’s nuclear-related activities across the country. That could provide warning of any move to enrich uranium to weapons grade levels at Natanz and ease fears of clandestine facilities.

Privately both US and Israeli officials say that even the current, more limited inspection regime at Natanz would provide sufficient warning of any “breakout” towards a nuclear bomb. Outside Natanz, by contrast, information on Iran’s programme is diminishing.

The US line that Iran is seeking the capability to develop nuclear weapons – but not necessarily such weapons themselves – contrasts with Mr Bush’s insistence while in office that it sought nuclear weapons.

Iranian regime insiders have said they would expect a compromise by the US on enrichment to be reciprocated.

Obama Calls for Respecting Iran

Obama Stresses Respect for Iran’s Sovereignty

TEHRAN (FNA)- US President Barack Obama, in an attempt to soften Washington’s harsh tone on Iran, called on the international community to respect Tehran’s sovereignty in their efforts to deal with Tehran’s nuclear program.

Speaking to reporters during a joint news conference with his French counterpart Nicholas Sarkozy on Friday, the new US president said Iran’s sovereignty should remain intact.

Yet, Obama repeated the same old allegations made by his predecessor, George W. Bush, against Iran, and said Tehran should avoid promoting a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.

“There should be a mechanism that respects Iran’s sovereignty and allows them to develop peaceful nuclear energy
but draws a clear line that we cannot have nuclear arms race in the Middle East,” he said.

Israel May End Chance for Peace

Israel stealing more land, dividing the West bank forever.
Evidently there are no humans left in Israel, only racist zionist nazi’s who steal and butcher Arabs. Obama needs to cut these zio-nazi’s loose now. No money, no aid, no weapons, no friendship. Cut them loose and let them sort it out with the Arabs without US assistance, then we will see how quickly they are forced to make peace with their neighbours.

New town may be death blow to hopes for Israel peace
The foundations have been laid but critics fear a planned Israeli settlement will end any hope of a Palestinian state

The sign in big, red Hebrew letters reads “Welcome to Mevasseret Adumim, the Harbinger of the Hills”. A three-lane road with roundabouts leads up the hill to a police station and street lamps line the flyover that links the new town to neighbouring Ma’aleh Adumim, one of the largest Jewish settlements in Israel.

There are no houses, cars or people in Mevasseret Adumim: it is a town laid out, waiting to be built. That is because international pressure has so far prevented construction from going ahead. The area is the last piece of open land linking Arab East Jerusalem to the West Bank and critics said that to develop it would bury the very notion of a two-state solution to the Middle East crisis.

According to reports in the Israeli media, the area has been earmarked for development under a secret accord between Binyamin Netanyahu, the new, conservative Israeli Prime Minister, and his ultra-nationalist Foreign Minister, Avigdor Lieberman.

Better known under its old British mandate name, E1, it is the most controversial development project in the region, one that diplomats and observers warn will trigger the collapse of the weakened Palestinian Authority, or drive it into armed resistance again.

Israeli army radio reported that the deal was struck between Mr Netanyahu and Mr Lieberman as part of the negotiations to form a government, and it would allow 3,000 homes to be built on E1.

Critics said that building a combined Jewish settlement and national park in the hills of E1 would cut the West Bank in two. And blocking mainly Arab East Jerusalem from the West Bank it would make it impossible for the Palestinians to have that side of the disputed city as their capital.

Obama~No More Nukes? Good Luck With That One

I watched this live and Obama said today in Germany he wants to “rid the world of nuclear weapons” a noble cause, but to Obama I would say this; Good luck with that one! The only way Israel will let go of it’s Nuclear Weapons and take it’s murdering finger off the button, is if the US pries Israel’s cold dead fingers off the big red button. Israel is a threat to world peace. Report below:

Obama wants world without nukes

STRASBOURG, France, April 3 (UPI) — U.S. President Barack Obama Friday in France pledged to work to create a world without nuclear weapons.

Addressing a crowd of roughly 3,000 students in Strasbourg, co-host of NATO’s 60th anniversary summit this weekend, Obama warned that “even with the Cold War now over, the spread of nuclear weapons, or the theft of nuclear material, could lead to the extermination of any city on the planet.”

Obama added he would, at an EU-U.S. summit Sunday in Prague, “lay out an agenda to seek … a world without nuclear weapons.”

The crowd at the sports hall in Strasbourg, made up of students mainly from Germany and France, erupted in cheers and long applause.

Obama’s comments came just two days after a meeting with Russian President Alexander Medvedev Wednesday in London; the leaders had announced plans to seek a deal aimed at reducing their Cold War-era nuclear arsenals.

“Israel Won’t Survive”~Charles Freeman Interview

Charles Freeman gives Americans (and Israel) something to think about when he says: “I believe Israel’s policies are destructive to American interests and also to Israeli interests,”

Story below:

Ex-US envoy doubts Israel’s survival

Former US ambassador to Saudi Arabia Charles W. Freeman has cast doubt whether Israel can continue to survive in the Middle East.

“I don’t see how Israel can continue to survive in the long term as a state in the Middle East if it is not prepared to deal with respect and consideration with its Arab neighbors specially the Palestinians,”

In mid March, Freeman turned down Director of National Intelligence (NIC) Dennis C. Blair’s offer to be the chairman of the body.

Freeman accused the Israeli lobby of being behind his withdrawal.

Freeman had come under fire for statements he had made criticizing Israeli policies.

“I am critical of Israel’s policy. I believe Israel’s policies are destructive to American interests and also to Israeli interests,”

He noted that he became disappointed when the administration of President Barack Obama refused to put its weight behind him over the offered position.

“I was obviously disappointed that I didn’t have support from the White House. But as I understand the way this administration works I shouldn’t have been surprised,” he said.

More US Weapons Arrive in Israel

America wake up stop arming these lunatics!

As US arms shipment reaches Israel, President Obama urged to halt further exports

The new delivery to Israel of a massive consignment of US munitions, revealed by Amnesty International today, throws into question whether President Obama will act to prevent the US fuelling further Israeli attacks against civilians that may amount to war crimes, as were perpetrated in Gaza.

According to new information received by Amnesty International, the Wehr Elbe, a German cargo ship which had been chartered and controlled by US Military Sealift Command, docked and unloaded its cargo of reportedly over 300 containers at the Israeli port of Ashdod, just 40 km north of Gaza by road. The German ship left the USA for Israel on 20 December, one week before the start of Israeli attacks on Gaza, carrying 989 containers of munitions, each of them 20 feet long with a total estimated net weight of 14,000 tons.

“Legally and morally, this US arms shipment should have been halted by the Obama administration given the extent of the evidence showing how military equipment and munitions of this kind were recently used by the Israeli forces for war crimes,” said Brian Wood. “Arms supplies in these circumstances are contrary to provisions in US law.”

Asked about the Wehr Elbe, a Pentagon spokesperson confirmed to Amnesty International that “the unloading of the entire USmunitions shipment was successfully completed at Ashdod[Israel] on 22 March”.
